Long before Pinterest was created, I've been collecting quotes. Inspirational, spiritual, work, pets, love, marriage, historical, you name it, I've been keeping my favorites in journals all of my life. I like to go back and reference them when I need a good swift kick in the butt, or a reminder of how precious life is. When I started my pet sitting business, I printed out a few and put them in frames which sat on my book case right next to my desk. This helped me keep my chin up as I weathered getting my business off the ground so I could start making money and support myself.
When I jumped into the dating world, I collected little books of love quotes. To remind myself that there is nothing wrong with being single. And never lose hope that I might one day find my Prince Charming. Who doesn't love a love story? These days I collect quotes and sayings about dogs and photography. You can find some of my favorites on my Pinterest board. I still like the good old fashion method of pen and paper and add new one to my notebooks regularly.
Today I thought I'd share one of my favorites from the book Marley and Me by John Grogan. If you haven't read the book or seen the movie, I highly recommend it. Be sure you have a box of tissues because you'll need them!
Isn't that the truth? I love coming home at the end of the day, being greeted by two wet noses and wiggly butts. No matter how my day has gone, just knowing they are happy to see me makes me smile.
