5 Reasons why you should hire a professional photographer

I bet if I asked you how many photos on your cell phone are of your pet, you’d say a lot! Social media is full of accounts featuring the furry friends we adore. They inspire so many of us to whip out our cell phones and capture our own pets as well. Let’s face it, it’s fun photographing our pets and if you’re like me, 80% of your camera roll is of photos of your furry friends.

But how many of them are blurry? Poorly lit? Do you love any of them so much you’ve had it printed and put on display in your home? Besides the badly timed selfie, how many images capture the bond you share with your furry best friend?

Here are 5 reasons why you should hire a professional photographer:

1.     Photography is a learned skill. Professional photographers spend years mastering the art – from lighting, posing, to post processing and so much more, they can deliver the quality of work worthy of displaying in your home.

2.     They know the best locations. A professional photographer will know which location is best for the style and feel of the photos you would like to create. Not only that, they’ll take the time to get to know these places well, learning the lighting and which spots will photograph beautifully. In addition, they’ll know the locations that are not only beautiful, but also safe for your dogs.

3.     You can be in the photographs. It’s hard to capture the bond you share with your pets when you’re the one taking the photo. Put the phone down, and hire a professional photographer who can capture those expressions and moments that really show how much you and your furry family members adore each other.

4.     Get beautifully edited photographs. Photography isn’t just about the photo session, it’s also about the post processing that takes place afterwards. Especially with pet photographers since most (if not all) dogs have to remain on a leash during their session. A professional photographer can edit out distractions like eye boogers, dog hair on clothing as well as leashes.

5.     The experience. It’s easy to take dozens, hundreds and even thousands of photos of your pets each year but leave them on your phone or even lose them. A professional photographer will guide you through the entire process from pre-planning (the location, what to wear, how to prepare), the session, and creating artwork you can’t wait to display in your home that will be cherished for years to come.
