Model Call: Stash and Wager | State College pet photographer

Earlier this summer I put out a model call and got a terrific response! Thank you to all who have replied and are signed up! I got a late start with scheduling these sessions due to all the rain we had back in June, but since the weather has gotten nicer, I've been able to start photographing these models. Stash and Wager were one of the first ones. I've known Stash for a few years, his mom and I train in agility together. But I hadn't yet met Wager, the newest addition to her family. We scheduled the session for what was to be a beautiful evening in a park where they often go for walks. But once again, the skies opened up and it started to rain, yet the sun was still shining! So we hunkered down in the car and waited it out. It didn't last long, and when it stopped the light was just awesome! The boys did a great job for me and we wrapped it up after about an hour as they were getting pretty warm due to the humidity.

I was really excited when Stash and Wager's mom emailed me to offer the boys as models for me. They are papillons, a descendent of the toy spaniels. The name comes from the characteristic butterfly look of the long and fringed hair on their ears, one of many traits I love about this breed. Known to be friendly, alert and happy dogs, they are a joy to be around. Like most papillons, Stash and Wager and intelligent, obedient and playful.

Stash and Wager were wonderful to work with; I had fun photographing them. It was hard to narrow down a few images to share, but here are some of my favorites!
