Project 52: Week 6 - Wide Open

This week's theme for the Beautiful Beasties Project 52 was wide open. It was up to us to be creative when interpreting this theme...does it mean shooting in a wide open space or shooting with a wide open aperture? I decided to stay indoors and play with a couple of different lenses using Izzy as my model. Our guest bedroom probably gets the best light in the entire home, but it helps to keep my aperture wide open to allow as much light as possible into the lens. For my first image I used my 24 - 70 mm f/2.8 lens and shot wide open at f/2.8.

For my second image, I used my 50 mm f/1.4 lens. When working with such a wide aperture, you have to pay special attention when focusing. But when I nail it, I just love the bokeh this lens creates.
